Fine / The End
2008

The work Fine consists of a scan of the last page of Zeno’s Conscience, a psychoanalytic novel by Italo Svevo, published in 1923. He had an apocalyptic vision of a great explosion, several years before the atomic bomb came to be. 100 years later, his vision remains more current than ever.  The page I scanned was from the 1938 edition published by Dall’Oglio Editore, Milano, that I read as a teenager.

The work was originally in Italian, and in 2018 I made a photolitho edition as a composition of 4 pages in 4 languages: Italian, English, French, and German.
