Carne (Flesh)

The photo collages are composed of cut-outs from newspapers, advertisements and porn magazines. The title “Carne” refers to the material-subject - literally “Flesh.”

In 1996 I produced a sculpture with the same title “Carne” that was based on the photo collage. I made molds from different legs and arms (myself included) and filled them with pigmented wax. All of the wax limbs were assembled inside a glass vitrine.

I worked on this photo collage parallel to the series Fotoleinen and Double Drawings, and used photo material from my news and media archive.
