Double Drawings
1995–2002, graphite or ink on overlapping transparent paper, each 29,7 x 21 cm

Double Drawings is a series of drawings composed of two or three layers of transparent paper. The drawings are taken from magazine and newspaper images, where I traced only the heads or figures from the pictures/photos without context or surroundings. The motifs of the drawings show historical events, violence, destruction, murders, wars, and pornographic scenes, but are also taken from sports and fashion, depicting both famous and unknown people.
In 2001 I made an artist book titled Double Drawings, printed completely on transparent paper (80 pages) and the cover on transparent pvc. It was like a drawing with many many layers, but in book form. This was my first artist book in offset printing.
