"It Was Me. Diary 1900–1999" is like a diary about 366 days (of a leapyear): from January 1st to December 31st. The events are actually from the entire history of the 20th century, and the narrator writes in first person, as if these events are personal. One day, the narrator is the victim and the day after the offender.

I made this project first as an audio installation (German, 2002), then as a book (2005), and later as a large print (300 x 600 cm, 2006) as well.
The years of the events can be found in the chronology at the end of the book, or on the side of the work.
