"Ladies" aren‘t portraits, they are just pictures of heads. The models for the drawings were taken from magazines and newspapers. Photographs of unknown and prominent faces of women from fashion, politics, culture, sport, and advertisements were used. The original context of the photographs has been omitted: All recognizable traits and clues to the originals are left out, and all that remains are the many heads with many different faces, reduced to line-drawings on paper, and staring into the void.
The series is also an artist book with a special edition.
