"Perturbazione/Disturbance #02 - September 27", which takes a personal turn, consists of 3 elements: a damaged car, a tree trunk, and a text-image diptych that together re-frame the following story: The artist’s mother, born in 1938, drove a VW Golf IV for 25 years. In the early hours of September 27th 2024, strong winds caused a tree to collapse on her parked car, crushing the rear end of the vehicle. When she lost the car, she also lost a part of her independence. She is now 87 years old, and she considers it inappropriate to buy a new car.

This new installation is a continuation of "Perturbazione/Disturbance“ (2023), a sequence of 12 text-images and an artist book - published by Danilo Montanari Editore - dealing with weather forecasts that slowly become more and more catastrophic.
"Perturbazione/Disturbance vol. 2" further implicates the dynamics of perception and interpretation of situations that are broadcast daily on the news.
During a process of selection, Comani recontextualizes weather reports through an appropriation act, challenging the viewer’s perception of language as it relates to media and regional contexts, this time adding a personal history through the re-staging of trauma.
