Archive In Progress
2015/2020, silent video, 40 min.

Archive In Progress is a 40 minute video loop composed of 979 newspaper clippings, taken from Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Der Tagesspiegel, Die Tageszeitung, Die Süddeutsche Zeitung, die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, La Repubblica, and Il Corriere della sera, among others. This material is a mix of politics, culture, sports, and daily news. I collected this visual material over the course of several years (roughly from 1989 to 2020), partially using it to develop other works. This constant act of collecting is a part of my practice.  I began this work in 2015 with 30 minutes of material and updated it in 2020, adding 10 minutes of footage.
