Perturbazione / Disturbance
2023
Sequence of 12 pigment prints on Photo Rag, each 42 x 29,7 cm

Perturbazione / Disturbance reflects on weather in the current time of climate crisis. It further implicates the dynamics of perception and interpretation of situations that are broadcast daily on the news. The sequence begins with a white text-image and gradually fades to a black image as short texts of weather forecasts become more and more catastrophic, from clear to bad weather, from light to dark. The prints are framed in similar varying tones from white to black, bringing a sculptural element to the installation.

During a process of selection, Comani recontextualizes weather reports through an appropriation act.

The installation at the FLR includes a site-specific work conceived for the floor. A screenshot from a 3D topographic map was taken as the image loaded, showing the middle phase between a 3D grid and final image. The screenshot is heavily enlarged for the 130qm floor and the picture is unrecognizable through the digital “disturbance”.
